My kitchen remodel included "appliance installation" does include moving equipment in the house?
I hired a company to design the kitchen to total gut and remodel my kitchen. The contract calls for installation of appliances is included. The company devices make the devices in my garage. My kitchen contractor is claiming that only the installation "of equipment is included, not the physical movement of equipment from outside the house inside. Is this typical? I feel I'm getting ripped off because I could have to spend more money to get a mover.
When we specify the installation, we mean that we move physically when they were delivered to the location where they are installed. Often the equipment is delivered before other work must be done before the device is installed, is not. And we do not want appliances that litter the area until the work is completed, though many clients engage them in the garage until my electrician or plumber said the device is ready to be installed and all other preparation work is completed. Personally, I'd be a little more insistent with the design company so that they move equipment from the garage to the kitchen. Especially when there's more work to be complete before installation. I would like threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau and the Contractor State Licensing Board to complain. In addition, it is a very bad example of customer service and I think they do not expect that you're a satisfied customer happy to act as a reference in the future!
